American ReVamps Mag and Adds New 787
As airlines report projected earnings that exceed expectations, because of lower oil costs, there are a few updates to report.
American Airlines is adding a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to their arsenal and is expected to begin using the plan this spring. The Dreamliner is fuel efficient and offers many pleasing features, though the big concern was over on-board batteries that would catch fire. According to federal regulators the problem has been corrected.
Word has it that United Airlines is adding a tablet-computer holder to first class seats. The reported plan is to add these nifty gadgets to new, domestic first class seats. Further, United is working to provide free streaming television and movies to passengers with mobile devices.
A New Look
Finally, American’s in-flight magazine, American Way, is expecting a face lift. Starting this month, you’ll find the Foo Fighters in the “refreshing” redesigned rag. The magazines on-line counterpart, americanway.com, is also receiving the new look. But don’t fear—the crossword puzzles and Sudoku remain!
