More Choices for Delta Passengers

Delta Airlines is debuting a new fare product and pricing scheme that stands to offer a much greater array of choices for all travelers. The new fare scheme will offer a variety of choices, from bare-bones economy choices to the more lavish “Delta Comfort” and “Delta One” which may rival existing business and first class experiences.

The move to offer branded air fares mirrors what other airlines, such as American Airlines, have already begun offering. In 2012, American Airlines began offering their branded fare options. Similarly, JetBlue has made the decision to also offer their passengers branded airfare beginning in the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Delta projects that this move will not only offer a greater range of experiences – and prices – for their customers, but that this new fare pricing scheme will also lead to greater revenue for the company. As flyers are able to utilize not only lower prices and less amenities, many flyers will be able to opt into a more luxurious experience with greater amenities for a more balanced pricing scheme.
